New Cassette Tape: Think and Grow Rich

March 16, 2024

A new cassette tape has been added to the collection. Think and Grow Rich is an abridged audio adaption of the Napoleon Hill book. Narrated by Earl Nightingale ("The Strangest Secret"), the cassette was produced in 1960 by Success Motivation Institute, Inc. According to his daytimer diaries, Bruce Lee listened to this cassette on February 5, 1969.

New Booklet: How to Be Human on the Job

A new booklet has been added to the collection. How to be Human on the Job was written by Wallace G. Strathern and published by the National Foremen's Institute in 1949. It is from this booklet that Bruce Lee found the phrase: "Be generous with honest praise."

New Video: Samurai Swordsmanship and Suzuki's "Zen and Japanese Culture"

The first of a series of videos related to the specific books in the library of Bruce Lee is now available on the site. This first video, titled Samurai Swordsmanship and Suzuki's "Zen and Japanese Culture" discusses the influence of the book and samurai culture on Bruce Lee's ideas on the martial arts.

Books From the Wing Luke Museum Library List Excluded in This Collection

The following books appeared in the library list released by the Wing Luke Museum. They have been excluded from this collection due to the reasons listed below:

  • The Art of Fighting by Klaus (no such book by that title; clearly refers to "The Art of In-Fighting" by Frank Klaus; which is already included in the list)
  • Be Angry, But Don't Blow It! Maintaining Your Passion Without Losing Your Cool by Lisa Bevere (first published in 2000)
  • From Kung Fu to Hip Hop by M. T. Kato (first published in 2007)
  • Magazine Writing: The Inside Angle by Art Spikol (book was first published in 1979)
  • Photography (Second Edition) by Barbara Upton and John Upton (second edition published in 1981; first edition published in 1976)
  • Positive Therapy: Making the Very Best of Everything by Allen E. Wiesen (first published in 1977)
  • Touring Souvenir of Mt. Sok Ri 國立公園 觀光 俗離山 by 宇進 觀光 文化社 (earliest identified edition is 1974)
  • The West Point Fitness and Diet Book by James Lee Anderson and Martin Cohen (first edition published in 1977)

Additionally, the following titles from the Wing Luke Museum list are currently excluded due to being unidentifiable via the Internet, bookseller, and library resources. Until their existence has been validated, they will remain excluded from this archive:

  • World of Judo by Tashiro & Terayama
  • N.T.I.
  • N.T.I. Judo and Karate by N.T.I.
  • The Best Maxims of Chinese & Foreigners
  • Advice to Future Champions: Part V
  • Boxing Fundamentals in the Art of Self Defense
